Mike Smorul

Associate Director of Cyberinfrastructure

Mike Smorul served as Associate Director of Cyberinfrastructure at SESYNC,  playing key roles in the Center's leadership from 2011 to 2017.  Mike designed and deployed SESYNC's cyberinfrastucture in 2011, launched the Center's computational programs, and over the years, trained and supervised many new IT personnel. He continued to advance SESYNC's infrastructure, capabilities, and computational services until he departed in 2017. 

Currently, he is a Senior Program Manager at the United States Patent and Trademark Office's Enterprise Cloud Modernization in Washington, D.C. Prior to this position, Mike was a Senior Program Manager at General Dynamics Information Technology and a Cloud Architect with Nava—both in Washington, D.C.
