Dr. Katie Stuble is a scientist at the Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, Ohio—one of the largest arboreta and botanical gardens in the United States. Katie and her research think about the basic mechanisms underlying the maintenance of diversity within communities, as well as how global change may alter these communities and the services they provide. Conducting much of this research in and around the arboretum, Katie tends to focus on two main drivers of global change: climatic warming and species invasions. She has a particular fascination in how global change is altering interspecific interactions ranging from competition to mutualisms. Katie received her PhD from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Katie served as a member of SESYNC’s Scientific Advisory Committee for three years.
